Lulu Faust is a lifelong dancer and choreographer from Chicago, currently living in Los Angeles. From a very young age, she was tremendously musically inclined, immersing herself in creative spaces with band and choir, town musical theater programs, as well as visual arts classes including ceramics and sculpture.
Following departure from gymnastics and recreational dance, she began her heavy training in competitive dance at 9 years old before transitioning to classical and concert work at 14. She attended The Chicago Academy for the Arts, Chicago's preeminent private performing arts high school, where she rigorously studied ballet, jazz, contemporary and Graham Technique. Under the direction and mentorship of dance chair and Ruth Page award-winning choreographer Randy Duncan, she had the opportunity to perform works by Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, Brian Brooks and Nick Pupillo, culminating in her first choreographic work: “Each Other”.
After graduation from The Academy, she spent a year continuing her ballet training in the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA program at Dominican University of California. Shifting her focus to commercial dance, Lulu came to Los Angeles to further her studies at AMDA. In 2024, she finished her second choreographic work, a dance film entitled “Liberosis”, where she immersed herself in the world of directing and producing.
All mediums of art continue to inspire her work. With hobbies like playing guitar, singing, painting, tattooing and crochet, she continues to expand her channels of creativity. Her obsession with music remains just as strong as when she was a child, as she considers it to be her first love and first language. Lulu is currently working on exploring and sharpening her choreographic footprint, pulling from her diverse dance experiences and putting her novel perspective and imagination at the forefront.
